Remailer
Remailer is a rule-based message hub designed to serve as a central processor for redirecting - or "re-mailing" - business alerts and notifications. The first iteration of Remailer was built way back in 2005, and over the years the product has been polished into an extremely powerful tool.
Remailer polls POP3 mail accounts and collects the email messages contained within them. Using rules that you define, Remailer then resends those emails via an SMTP server, altering content and destination as required.
Additionally, alternate "Destinations" can be configured for writing the messages to text files, the Windows Event Log, and even outputting them as verbal announcements using Text-To-Speech technology.
Consider the following common scenario:

Unfortunately, this simple problem would be impossible to solve in 95% of cases due to the extremely limited alerting capabilities that most software products offer. Put simply, the majority of products issue notifications 24x7, without any mechanism for coping with more complex requirements that a customer may have.
Using Remailer, these problems are easily solved. Notifications are sent 24x7 to standard POP3 mail accounts which act as temporary "holding areas". Remailer then collects these notifications for further processing, based on rules configured by the Remailer administrator. By creating just a few simple Remailer rules, the desired result could easily be achieved, resulting in happier end-users, and much greater control of the lifecycle of your notifications:
